The cancellation came with barely 24 hours' notice. Kushner and Witkoff, Trump's two primary Iran negotiators, were set to fly to Islamabad for a second round of indirect talks with Iranian counterparts brokered by Pakistan's government. Then Trump reversed course. "We're not going to spend 15 hours in airplanes all the time going back and forth to be giving a document that was not good enough," Trump told reporters at the White House on 25 April. His prescription: phone calls. "They can call us anytime they want."
